First Swallow today.

Re: First Swallow today.
It certainly wasn't very summery here today, and now we have wind and rain. The old people called this time of year "the scaraveen" which comes from the Irish "Garbh shíon na gCúach - go fúar 's go fliuch" which translates as "Rough weather of the Cuckoo - cold and wet". It spans the last fortnight of April and the first fortnight of May.

First swallow appeared today. God only knows where he was yesterday, through all the wind and rain!
