The east wind is always a problem with our stove. It can fill the bungalow with smoke unless we open the windows, which kinda defeats the object. While scanning around for a practical solution other than extending the chimney ( it would need bracing ). I came across a very expensive cowl. Which is claimed to be fool proof. So this is my take on it made from materials scanked from my boneyard. Namely a dead freezer. All we need now is an east wind to try it out. Heath Robinson would be proud.

Very impressive - I bet it works, too. And look at the satisfaction gained from making it yourself. I'm a great believer in the old saying: "When you make do with what you've got, you will not need what you have not!"

You know... that's an ingenious idea! You should patent it - sort of mini readymix lorry!
