How long would you leave a broody hen sitting on eggs. Ours has been sitting for 5 weeks. The eggs she is sitting on have been under her for 4 weeks and are obviously not going to hatch. The person who sent me the eggs is sending replacements. I have another hen gone broody and was wondering if I could put the eggs she is on which are due to hatch in 9 days under the original one and give the newer broody the new eggs.
Hope that makes sense.
