Off to the seaside tomorrow (God willing)  to fill a few bags of seaweed for the compost heap.  Every little helps!

Hi Cristy, I filled three black bin liners in about half an hour. I'll try to go again in the next few days. I'm building a fair old winter compost heap, what with the seaweed, bedding from the geese, ducks and hens, the pomace from the cider-making and lots of twigs and branches which I put through the shredder. Another job to do is gather leaves for the leafmould bin.

No peace for the wicked Sean. I have just emptied one compost bin into a poly for the early spuds which I will plant on the solstice. With the other heap of well rotted fowl manure I am hoping for an early crop and a premium price at the mart. Fingers crossed.
