Used Coffee grounds. This does seem to work. I get it by the bucket full from a local coffee shop, they are only too happy to get rid of it. Looking at the PKN analysis coffee grounds have a fare amount of "N" So doubly good. I have been experimenting with a general organic fertiliser mix of Coffee, Chicken manure and Wood ash. It looks promising.

Detering Slugs. Empty Re: Detering Slugs.

For some reason, I never have trouble with slugs. I never put down pellets, I never kill them, I just leave 'em alone. I'm a firm believer that if a plant is healthy, growing in suitable soil which is also healthy, rich in organic matter and not poisoned with chemicals, slugs generally leave it alone. Slugs are Nature's scavengers and cleaners: any plant showing distress signals is like a magnet to them. Take note that weeds don't suffer from slugs!
