I had a great view of a Merlin flying across the road in front of me this evening. I always think that the Merlin is like a miniature Peregrine behaving like a supercharged Sparrowhawk!  They're amazing little falcons, but so fast that usually you only get a fleeting glimpse.

Nice one Sean. In the UK in days gone by a mans station in life would determine the bird he could fly. The Merlin was designated to the Curate. Just a bit of trivia for yer. Smile

I thought a Merlin was for a Lady, Wayland, and a Sparrowhawk for a priest (curate). Would the likes of us be entitled to a Goshawk? Cool
