Fox attack geese
Sadly a fox visited two nights on the run and took our 'Christmas' gosling one night and the following night took our breeding goose!! The dogs went nuts and woke us up but unfortunately the damage had been done and although Jes gave chase she didn't find it. Our faithful Gander 'Bruiser' (who has a love hate relationship with Diz) became very timid and we were able to house him at night. The fox came back for it's third attempt and hid behind the Polytunnel and Jes just couldn't pick the scent up, she knew it was there somewhere. Bruiser has now been re homed. Very sad. And we now don't know what we will have for Christmas dinner.

Re: Fox attack geese
Sorry to hear the sad news. We have had to contend with the same as most here, and trying to be philosophical does not always help. At the end of the day the Fox is part of country life of course, but until it is dead it will try again. Get the bugger!!! We are somewhat relaxed about Fox attacks now but the orchard looks like colditz, with five foot fence and two strands of electric at the top. Not a pretty sight. As to your xmas dinner can you not get a few Turkey poults? Its a pity you did not live closer. We have a spare 15 lb Broiler.
