First Walnuts.

Post by wayland on Thu Sep 27, 2018 5:39 pm

About 20 years ago I took a walnut from my uncles tree and planted it. He said that you plant a walnut for your grandchildren as I would not see a nut myself. He was a wise old man but wrong in this case. This is the first walnuts I have ever harvested. Very pleased.

Hi Wayland, what did they taste like, they look green compared to the ones you buy. Do they have to ripen?

Hi Deryn. The nuts are in their shells, like conkers Very Happy They do have to be dried first as they are a bit bitter when fresh. Ok for xmas.
