Alexandra`s
Every year an interesting plant grows along roadside ditches locally. It has lime green leaves and white umbel type flowers in the spring. I have identified it as Alexandra`s. After Googling this plant it turns out to be a very useful culinary herb with every part being edible. An interesting history dating like many things back to the Romans. Do any of you lads have knowledge of Alexandra`s ?

Wayland, I think the generally accepted name of that plant is Alexanders or Horse Parsley. If you have the right one, every part of it is edible. You can steam the stems like Asparagus. But be careful - there are a few plants similar in appearance which are toxic. Google it and make sure.

Thanks for the cautionary note Sean. I have not heard it called Horse Parsley before. The giveaway is the leaves which look like celery, of which it is related and shares the same taste.
